Cleaning and care of your hearing aids
Wipe hearing aids clean every day with a dry cloth or tissue
Regularly brush over microphones to keep them clear of debris
Change wax guards every 1-2 months, or when your hearing aid is weak
Change domes every few months and having tubing and earmolds replaced when dry and brittle
Store hearing aids and chargers in a cool, dry place away from moisture
Bluetooth Troubleshooting:
Almost all hearing aids today come with the ability to connect wirelessly to Bluetooth devices such as phones, tablets, computers, and televisions. They are also compatible with manufacture specific apps on your Android or iPhone that allow you to control many settings in your devices. If you are having any issues with your Bluetooth connectivity, we would be happy to assist you. Prior to scheduling an appointment, please contact your respective manufactures Bluetooth help line as it may save you a trip in to see us!

10 Tips: How to Communicate with Someone Who Has Hearing Loss
- Speak clearly – not too fast, not too slow – in a normal tone of voice.
- Get the person’s attention before you begin talking.
- Make sure you are looking at the person when you are speaking to them.
- Stay out of shadows, and keep light on your face while talking.
- Show your face while talking – avoid chewing gum, drinking, or eating when talking.
- Avoid background noise.
- Position yourself within 3 to 6 feet of the person you are talking to.
- Make sure you were understood – tactfully ask leading questions so you know your message got across.
- Rephrase if they did not understand what you said.
- Ask the listener what you can do to make the message easier to understand.
